10 Blog comments

Comments on blogs are what make them really work – the point is to be a conversation, as well as being situated in time. So you may wish to orient things towards getting comments. As we have just seen on the CETL blog, they take the dialogue forward from the initial starting point of the article.

There is also a type of automatic comment called a pingback, which is created when you write on your blog, but you have chosen to include a link to a page on another blog. In this case, the other blog’s page gets a comment from the system to say that you are talking about that page;  this comment that is called a pingback.  http://en.support.wordpress.com/comments/pingbacks/
